Dear
friends and comrades,
The following episode which has happened
in the CBDT last week is another example showing what an organisational
action is, which can ensure a response from an administration.
The ITGOA gave a call to its members
to withdraw from all search operations and also quit official whatsapp groups. Members started withdrawing. Members also started refraining from
participating in Search operations as per the ITGOA call. One DR IRS Officer at Kolkata, threatened
members who refused to participate in search operations. There was a lightning Dharna
at Kolkata at 5 a.m. The CBDT Chairman
immediately called ITGOA for talks on last Saturday and assured to look into their
grievances and requested them to suspend their call for agitations. ITGOA has said that mere assurances are not
enough and wanted concrete orders at least on issues within the domain of the
CBDT.
In our case, as per the call of the AIEC, members all over India have been giving letters to their supervisory officers that they will not be using their personal mobile phones for office work. They have also been leaving officially formed Whatsapp groups. Though some pointed out that for these two things no organisational call was required, still to demonstrate our unity and frustration, we have given the call.
However, a sense of responsibility on the part of our members to get official work done at any cost is coming in the way of effective implementation of the call. Due to this reason, the department is yet to understand the impact of the call of the AIEC.
It becomes our responsibility as a cadre to draw a line between the call of duty and the duty to safeguard our self respect.
With
fraternal greetings,
R.

When the association itself doesn't act how does it expect the members to think that the association is serious about the call given? In Mumbai Supdts of 85 to 91 batch who had joined the association in its fight for Nfg 5400 In CAT are yet to get arrears. The CAT order is of Feb 2019. No contempt petition filed till date.
ReplyDeleteAssociation says that PAO is creating the problem and pao was not original respondent so contempt cannot be filed. In that case how is it that the Allahabad branch of association has filed contempt against PAO even though they were not original respondents?
ReplyDeleteCESA Mumbai is thinking in long term perspective and is on the job. It is matter of time and I assure that everyone will get arrears. Don't worry.Have you received arrears?
