CALL TO MEMBERS NOT TO GET DISTRACTED AND MISLED BY ROGUE CALLS

DEAR FRIENDS AND COMRADES,

IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT SOME ONLINE PETITION WITH THE TITLE
'Cadre Review Proposal of CBIC: Of the IRS For the IRS By the IRS' AGAINST THE CADRE REVIEW PROPOSAL OF CBIC IS BEING CIRCULATED FOR SIGNATURE IN THE NAME OF LUCKNOW UNIT OF THE AICEIA.

IT IS CLARIFIED THAT THIS ASSOCIATION HAS NOT TAKEN ANY DECISION TO SUPPORT ANY SUCH CALL.

THE SG OF AICEIA HAS ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THEIR ALL INDIA BODY ALSO HAS NOT GIVEN THIS CALL NOR SUPPORTED IT.

SOME MISCREANTS ARE UNDERSTOOD TO HAVE POSTED THAT CALL ALONG WITH THE HEADING OF OUR PREVIOUS POST 'CALL TO JOIN YAGNA TO REMOVE STAGNATION' IN THIS BLOG CALLING FOR STAGNATION DATA FROM MEMBERS TO MISCHIEVOUSLY LINK IT TO OUR CALL.

WE ARE GIVEN TO UNDERSTAND THAT SOME PERSONS PERHAPS WITH AN INTENT TO TORPEDO THE MOMENTUM OF OUR CALL FOR STAGNATION STATISTICS FROM MEMBERS ARE TRYING TO DISTRACT THE MOVEMENT AND MISLEAD PEOPLE BY INCITING THEM INTO ILL TIMED AND ILL ADVISED MODES OF PROTEST.

WE ARE TRYING TO ENGAGE WITH THE DOPT TO KNOW WHETHER THE CR PROPOSAL HAS TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION OUR STAGNATION ISSUE SUFFICIENTLY OR NOT.

WE ARE ALSO KEEPING THE MEMBERS UPDATED ON THE ACTIONS BEING TAKEN BY US FROM TIME TO TIME.

WE HAVE ALREADY TAKEN A DECISION IN OUR CEC TO APPROACH VARIOUS CHANNELS WITH OUR MEMORANDUM ON THIS ISSUE.

AT THIS JUNCTURE JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS AND MAKING ALLEGATIONS WITHOUT PROPER VERIFICATION AND BASIS GOES AGAINST THE INTEREST OF THE DEPARTMENT, CADRE AND THE ASSOCIATION.

WE STRONGLY CONDEMN SUCH MOVES TO FLOAT ROGUE CALLS BY WHO EVER IS INDULGING IN SUCH THINGS AND CALL UPON ALL MEMBERS TO BE VIGILANT AGAINST BEING MISLEAD.

MEMBERS ARE REQUESTED TO PARTICIPATE ONLY IN CALLS OFFICIALLY ISSUED BY THIS ALL INDIA BODY.

FRATERNALLY YOURS,
R. MANIMOHAN,

CALL TO JOIN THE YAGNA TO REMOVE STAGNATION

Dear friends and comrades,

As has been feared by us, the CBIC has once again submitted the CR proposals to the DoPT without informing us the contents of their recommendations. You would have gone through the detailed submissions made by us to the Revenue Secretary and the Chairman CBIC which was published in this blog:

http://cengo1.blogspot.com/2021/06/our-consolidated-memorandum-on-cr.html

However, we come to know that the proposals have been sent to DoPT, without giving us an opportunity to be heard or intimating to us what was the final proposal decided upon by the CBIC. Hence we have no other alternative but to bring to the notice of the DoPT our apprehensions. CLICK HERE FOR THE MEMORANDUM TO THE DOPT

We had already provided a Service Profile to the DoPT which was also enclosed to our memorandum. CLICK HERE FOR THE SERVICE PROFILE

The next step is to mobilise support regarding the need to have the Cadre Review in such a manner as to address the stagnation in the department. More than our cadre, no one else can understand the pain of this stagnation. Though we have collected data from the units regarding the stagnation, in order to make it perfect, after removing the names of all those who have subsequently got promoted, retired or left service by any other method, we have sought the data from the members directly. The link for this form has been circulated widely and is also given here  PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR THE LINK TO THAT FORM

This is a YAGNA involving the entire membership of this cadre through out the country. As a first step towards mobilising ourselves, by filling up this form individually, we are committing to do away with the satan of stagnation which has been suffocating us for decades. We are in a position of now or never.

Hence, we humbly appeal to each and every one of the members of the cadre through out the country in all the 15 zones, to participate in this YAGNA with sincere feeling and prayers.

We are also glad to announce that within 24 hours of circulating the form by whatsapp yesterday, more than 3500 persons from all zones in the CGST have already filled up the form.  More are pouring in.  It shows the real pain of the cadre.  This outpouring is only the first step.

We will announce our next step and programme shortly in consultation with our sister Associations.

Long live unity. Long live Association.

fraternally yours,
R. Manimohan,
SG, AIASCT

OUR HUMBLE HOMAGE

The CBIC has brought out a booklet in the name of  'Shradhanjali' (Click here for the pdf) in memory of our dear colleagues who had laid down their lives in the line of duty during the COVID pandemic.  The poignant homage starts with the first victim Shri. Sanjay More, Head Hawaldar, Mumbai Customs on 11.04.2020 and ends with the young boy, Shri. Sudhir Kumar, Inspector, Chennai on 12.06.2021.  Arranged as per the date of the demise of our colleagues, with a photo and a brief write up about each of them, it makes a befitting tribute.

We all philosophise by saying that the departed soul still exists.  We want it to be true. Yet, in despair, we really do not know whether it is so.  That we are not able to communicate with them as we used to is therefore so uncomfortable and not so assuring.  Yet we carry them in our hearts.  Till the end of our very lives and thus by that, we know that they live within us. All of them contributed to our own self and survival.  It was ill luck or misfortune that they became a prey for the pandemic.

The vacuum in our hearts will get filled up with our routine work.  But their families will suffer the loss in irreparable ways. Wherever possible, monetary help, still if possible getting them some employment opportunities, helping their children in their studies and above all keeping them in our prayers, are all that we can do.

They might have lived their lives and passed away with the prayer:

'Let me live unsung, unlamented may I die,

Not a stone shall say, where I lie'.

But, it is our duty to carry their cherished memories in our hearts.

This Booklet shall be a testimony for our feelings.

We are thankful to the DGHRD, CBIC and all those who took pains to bring this booklet out in a fine form.

Congratulations, celebrations and retrospection.
